Nutritionally complete normocaloric tube and sip feed with modified carbohydrate profile, with mono-unsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) and medium chain triglycerides (MCT). With fructose and one sweetener; rich in fibre, free from gluten, clinically free from lactose and cholesterol, low in sodium.

Indications/Uses
For the dietary management of patients with or at risk of malnutrition, in particular when glucose metabolism is impaired such as in impaired glucose tolerance, stress-induced hyperglycaemia or diabetes mellitus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Dosage should be calculated by a dietician or clinician.
For complete nutrition ≥7 servings/1400 mL/1456 kCal per day. For supplementary nutrition ≥2-3 servings/400-600 mL/416-624 kCal per day.
Preparation: 1 serving = 200 mL reconstituted powder (208 kCal).
How to prepare: (1) Pour 3 full scoops of powder (46 g) into a clean container or shaker. (2) Fill it up to 200 mL with preferably cold potable water for sip feeding. For tube feeding please use potable water at room temperature. (3) Stir well with a wire whisk until dissolved completely. (4) Let the product rest for 10 min, stir slowly with a wire whisk again for 1 min to avoid in particular for tube feeding the creation of foam.
Contraindications
Not suitable where enteral nutrition is not permitted eg, in acute gastrointestinal bleeding, gut atonia, ileus and others. Not suitable for patients with severe malassimilation or congenital inability to metabolise nutrients contained in Diben Powder. In patients with severe forms of organ failure eg, severe liver or kidney insufficiency, Diben Powder should be used with caution depending on the patient’s tolerance of nitrogen.
Special Precautions
Must be used under medical supervision only. For complete or supplementary nutrition. Pump assisted tube feeding is recommended. Increase slowly when commencing tube feeding. Diabetic therapy for blood sugar control should be adjusted according to the results of regular blood glucose monitoring. Ensure adequate fluid intake. Sodium supplementation may be needed when used as sole source of nutrition. Not suitable for children <3 years. Not for parenteral use.
Storage
Once reconstituted, use promptly. If refrigerated, use within 24 hrs and stir again before use. If used for tube feeding, hang time should be limited to 4 hrs for hygienic reasons. Store in dry and at room temperature.
